A little Inside Scoop. Uh-Oh its Vegas. (Part 3)

So we drank to the night we won't remember and to the friends we will never forget. I do confess I only remember bits after we got kicked out of Club XS. Oh yeah, we got kicked out of XS, one of the girls that were with us started puking from consuming way too much vodka on the rocks. Anyways, after dealing with all that, my friends and I decided to check out Spearmint Rhino, supposedly the best strip club on the strip. Let me tell you that I cannot disagree, this place, including the girls, was top-notch.

We took a limo there from Encore, which is great if you have a big group and it'll just cost the lot $20 total. Entrance fee to Rhino was $50, which I thought was quite pricey, but it includes 2 free drinks. Dances are supposed to be $20 per 3-minute song, unless you wanna be VIP. As a VIP, you'll get your own room but you'll have to buy a bottle from them. It'll cost ya about $800 for the room + girl + bottle, oh and don't forget the tip, that'll bump it up to maybe $1000 if you're lucky. So be wise, and be careful what you wish for, as anything can happen in Vegas... But as they also say, whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

The Weekend Before. Uh-Oh its Vegas. (Part 2)

I'm calling this part 2 cause after all that craziness, I decided to go downstairs and play some poker and not sleep throughout the next day. So it's kinda like the beginning of my second day in Vegas.

It was about 6:15am, there were about 5 people playing on the table, and I traded chips for about 7 hours before breaking even at $400 when I decided enough is enough. I was about to collapse, so I went up to my room but my friends were just wakin up, and they decided to drag me to lunch. I was glad to go as the place we went to was a charm at the Pallazzo called Table 10 by Chef Emeril. Their pulled pork sandwich and calamari are one of a kind.

After lunch we did a lil shopping, as many stores were having their summer sale on. I bought a pair of killer shoes at a bargain from Dior. Buying new shoes always makes me feel renewed and forget everything, I forgot that I hadn't sleep and when it was dinner time, we donned some better clothes and roamed around to find a good restaurant. Feelin confident in my new shoes we decided on a place called Carne|Vino by Chef Mario Batali. Now this place is a die die must try cause the steak is one of the best I've ever had in my life. I am a steak eater, and I dig steaks from Ruth Criss, Maestro and Morton's but CarneVino's Dry aged bone-in rib-eye steak is truly a life changer. If you're vegetarian, you'd probably be converted on the spot.

After the pleasing dinner, it was time for us to hit the hottest night club right now in Vegas, Club XS. This place reminds me of clubs that are on Ibiza, as you enter the place you go through a cave that welcomes you at the other end with an overwhelming sized room decorated to the finest filled with hundreds of people dancing on the main dancefloor and gogo dancers on the stage (Look at the second picture below). To the sides the walls are lined with tables for the VIP and the club extends to the outside where it is usually the pool area in the afternoon but becomes part of the club during the night. If you look at the first picture below, the area in front of the Encore building is the location of the swimming pool and the club. We got a table outside and it costs us about $3000, server tip included, for about 4 bottles and unlimited chasers. We had a lot of people so we could divide the total, I recommend doing the same if you're opening a table in Vegas unless you're ballin.

Then... it's to be continued on part 3. It was one hell of a night.

The Weekend Before. Uh-Oh its Vegas. (Part 1)

VEGAS BABY!!! Yeaaahhhhhh! I don't think I've even recovered fully yet from that weekend right before I arrived here. My friends from Boston had many of their High School friends flyin over to Vegas for the weekend to start off the Summer. They invited me to join them and it was way too easy for me to answer them. HAHA.

So we flew to LA and crashed at my friend's sister's place, thanks Chris! The next morning we drove to Vegas, reachin there in about 3 and half hours. Me and 2 other buds of mine were stayin at the Venetian, and the others were lucky enough to stay at one of those private suites over at the Encore. It was fuckin HUGE, you could fit a tennis court in there. Our room at the Venetian was the typical Vegas type of room, nicely furnished, plasma screens, and the feel of magic all around.

Put our stuff down, freshened up a lil' and we headed straight down for the tables. Played a lil', lost a lil', won a lil', then it was time to party. First night, we went to TAO, located at the Venetian, it was a sick place, going in the club, two naked girls covered only with leaves on their essential parts lay sitting down in a tub filled with decorated water. See those vase-looking things at the entrance on the right in the picture below? Those where what the girls were in, one on each side of the entrance to greet all of us queuing up for tickets. It really helped kill the queuing time to get in the club, if ya know what i mean ;). Anyways, you can imagine... Friday night in Las Vegas at one of the hottest hotels on the strip? The place was packed. But it was worth it. If you're a hotel guest at The Venetian, there's a priority queue line for you. Inside, TAO is a 2-level club with 3 separated parts and playing 3 different types of music, if I remember correctly, Trance, RnB and House. The rest of the night, we were drinkin and dancin and partyin all night long till the club closes. We continued to party at the suite playin beer pong and just havin a damn good time.

The Story.

It's quite an interesting story to tell how I landed this internship. I was a junior at BU and I took a marketing course called "Advertising and Promotion". The course had a real-life client that we were supposed to help by creating a marketing campaign. Our client was Ame & Lulu, a local business based in Boston selling unique female athletic fashionable totes and accessories. You can check em' out at www.ameandlulu.com they have pretty sleek stuff. So one random day, during one of our classes, Amye Kurson, the owner of Ame & Lulu decided to visit. After her speech, I simply asked her if she had any internship spots available in the company for the summer.

Funny enough, the answer was no. But... she was kind enough to refer me to her friend John O'Donnell, brother of actor Chris O'Donnell (known for his role as Robin in Batman & Robin movie), who owns a clothing line in LA called johnnie-O. John decided to interview me and luckily for me I was already in LA visiting my girlfriend at that time. I met John, and he decided to hire me, a couple months later after my finals at BU I arrived in LA on Mon 6/1/09 and I've been staying in Hollywood ever since.

Why did I decide to blog? Well I really needed to put my thoughts down somewhere because they just keep running through my head, all these wonderful thoughts and memories. What's better than an online diary? Why did I call myself The Naked Intern of Johnnie-O? I couldn't think of a name for the blog and since I am just starting out as an intern at Johnnie-O why not put it as it is and "The Naked" part I got the inspiration from Jamie Oliver, The Naked Chef. He calls himself the Naked Chef because he lays out all his recipes as they are and no secrets kept. I want to do the same for this diary, to be as blatant as I possibly can. My boss doesn't know, so it's just a personal thing. Voila!
